I thought I would share how I make our Homemade Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Treats.
Back in August 2016, I made the decision to join Slimming World. In doing so I realised how unhealthy prepackaged food is.
Prepackaged food is not just unhealthy for us, its also not great for our pets.
With this in mind, I started looking at the treats I give to Storm. In all honestly they are not great for him. Storm has always been slightly over weight, but he does love a biscuit.
So I started looking for a healthier alternative. Below is how I make Storms new treats, they are so easy to make.
Also, because I am making the biscuits I know exactly what he is eating.
100g Peanut Butter*
170g Rolled Oats
340g Wheat Flour
2 Medium Eggs
A Cookie Cutter
Method for Peanut Butter & Banana Biscuits
This method couldn’t be easier.
Pre Heat the oven to 200 oC
Break the banana into chunks and put in a food processor.
Followed by the rest of the ingredients.
Mix on high until the mixture starts to come together. If it doesn’t come together straight away, add a little more water.
Once the mixture is fully combined, tip out onto the worktop and kneed into a ball.
After you have done this, you then need to roll your mixture out, with a thickness of about 0.5cm
Once your mixture is rolled out, use a cookie cutter to cut out your biscuits. I use a bone shape, but you can use any shape you like.
Once you have cut your shapes our place them on a greased baking tray, I use Fry Light.
You should get approx 24 biscuits from this mixture.
Cook in the oven for 30 minutes ensuring you turn the biscuits over half way through. Cook until they are golden brown.
Once they are cooked, remove from the oven and leave to cool, before you give to your dog.
Storm Loves His Homemade Biscuits!
