Bring Your Dog to Work Day

So here it is, another wonderful Pet Related Holiday…Bring Your Dog to Work Day

Officially on Friday 23rd June, this is the day when you can take you dog into work, and in the process raise money for some great causes.

In 2015 and 2016 #BringYourDogToWorkDay trended on Twitter. The organisers of Bring Your Dog To Work Day are hoping the same will happen this year.

This is a genuine Annual Nationwide event which raises money for a number of charities.

It’s the fourth national event of its kind and is organised by HOWND®.

This year we will be taking part. I am not in work on the official day but we will be donating. We will also be very active on TwitterFacebook and Instagram to spread the word.

Storm has been into my office a couple of times. I took him in when he was a lot younger, and remember him jumper all over my colleagues. He even managed to persuade the boss to give him a biscuit.

Health Benefits of Bring Your Dog To Work Day

I bet you never knew there were Health Benefits of taking your dog to work, here are just a few:

  1. Bring Your Dog To Work Day can reduce stress – Playing with or stroking a pet releases oxytocin which can reduce the production of the Stress Hormone cortisol. Have a look at this Study

  2. They can keep you active – Dog friendly offices allow you to exercise your dog during the day. Meaning you will get that well needed breather, as well as giving your dog the regular exercise he/she needs

  3. They can improve job satisfaction – This Study shows people who could take their pets to work had more job satisfaction and were happier in their jobs.

  1. What!? I have never heard of this and I finally work outside the home again! I wonder if they will let us bring our dogs with us!! I’m going to ask!!
